This lemon garlic shrimp dish is sure to become a new favorite since it uses simple ingredients to produce a restaurant-quality dinner with a lovely presentation. It’s wonderful!

Recipe Ingredients:

  • A third of a cup of melted butter (distributed)
  • Minced garlic cloves (four cloves) (or 1 tablespoon)
  • Peeled and deveined 1 ¾ pound (800 g) shrimp (or prawns), tails intact
  • Freshly ground black pepper and kosher salt, to taste
  • A half-juice lemon (about 2 tablespoons — according to desire)
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley

Recipe Instructions:

  • In a large pan, melt 2 tablespoons butter over medium-high heat. Cook until the garlic is aromatic.
  • Fry the shrimp and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 5 minutes on one side, stirring once in a while. Cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side, or until the pink is just beginning to appear.
  • Combine the remaining butter, lemon juice, and water in a mixing bowl. Cook, stirring constantly, until the butter has melted and the shrimp are fully cooked. Turn off the heat. Taste and adjust the seasonings as required, adding extra lemon juice, salt, or pepper to suit your preferences.
  • Serve over rice or spaghetti with fresh chopped parsley on top.

Some Important Tips

  • Once this lemon garlic butter shrimp dish gets going, things move quickly. Make sure you have all of the ingredients on hand, as well as any cooking instruments you might need, such as a large spoon and a large plate for when you take the shrimp from the skillet.
  • Overcooking shrimp is the only way to totally ruin it. They’re ready to use as soon as they become opaque and curl up a little. Make sure you’re prepared because it just takes 5 minutes.
  • Make sure you’re using high-quality ingredients. Because the butter combination is produced with only a few simple components, use high-quality ingredients to allow them to shine. That means using fresh lemon juice, garlic, grass-fed butter if possible, and the finest shrimp you can find.
  • Do not juggle the shrimp. Don’t stir the shrimp while they’re cooking. Instead, heat it without moving it to ensure that it browns evenly.

How to Serve Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp?

Shrimp and Rice: Make a side of brown rice and top it with the shrimp and a generous amount of the delicious lemon garlic butter sauce. Low-carb cauliflower rice is a good choice.

Shrimp and Spaghetti: Serve your lemon garlic shrimp over boiled spaghetti.

Shrimp and Vegetables: Serve the roasted, steamed, sautéed, or grilled vegetables with the shrimp. In addition, the garlic butter sauce on top of the vegetables is delicious!

A tasty baguette can be made with a nice crust. Using a few slices to wipe up the cooking liquid instantly elevates any evening.

How You Can Store Lemon Garlic Butter Shrimp?

  • Refrigerate the shrimp with lemon and garlic for up to two days.
  • Reheat the shrimp in a heated pan until warm, adding more garlic butter if desired. Overcooking will result in rubbery shrimp. The microwave is also not advised for the same reason.

  • Allow the shrimp to come to room temperature before refrigerating them. Place the shrimp on a parchment-lined baking sheet after they have cooled. Freeze for at least 25 minutes, or until the shrimp hardens, then transfer to a freezer bag, press out excess air, and return to the freezer. Cooked shrimp can be stored in the freezer for up to three months. Before reheating, allow it thaw in the refrigerator overnight.
